People told to eat less fish from Great Miami and Mill Creek, more OK at Caesar Creek Lake

COLUMBUS, OH (FOX19) - For the 2012 season, Ohio has relaxed fish consumption advisories in four water bodies, 1 of them in the Tri-State, and added more strict limits in 10 waterways. 

This year’s fish consumption advisory contains updates to 15 locations based on detections from samples that were taken from 14 lakes and reservoirs and 18 streams in 2010.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - A team of researchers at the University of Cincinnati, Alma College in England, and the Newark OH campus of OSU says they've learned that male wolf spiders watch each other and steal their best dance moves, used to attract mates.

This is the first time this kind of thing has been reported in an invertebrate.

The study co-authored by David Clark, a professor of biology at Alma College; J. Andrew Roberts, an associate professor in the department of evolution, ecology and organismal biology at The Ohio State University at Newark; and George W. Uetz, a professor of biological sciences at the University of Cincinnati; is published this month in Biology Letters, a journal of the Royal Society of London.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Zoo has a number of animals that enjoy winter weather.  If you're not one of them, they are enticing you with half-price admission.

During Penguin Days, Zoo admission is half-price every day and there are special animal encounters every Saturday & Sunday, from now through February 29.

Daily, guests can see the Zoo’s King Penguins parade through the park at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and you can enjoy more than 12 heated indoor animal exhibits throughout the park.  Every Saturday and Sunday, guests can watch penguins, polar bears, snow monkeys and even elephants enjoy the winter weather in their own way during a variety of animal enrichment activities.

A lamb is born on Christmas Day

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Though they may not know what Christmas is, a ewe and her newborn participated in the miracle of life on Christmas Day. 

The sheep gave birth to a lamb at the Nativity Display at Krohn Conservatory in appropriately-named Eden Park on Sunday.  Cincinnati Parks has created a video that shows the lamb on its first day of life. 

The nativity scene, sponsored by Western & Southern Financial Group, runs daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. through January 1.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The Annual Reindog Parade has been a Mt. Adams tradition for 20 years, and the tradition will be renewed December 10th at 2:00 p.m. on St Gregory Street in Mt. Adams. 

All are invited to come and join the fun.  Admission is free (although donations are invited and go to the SPCA, which will also be offer microchipping for $15).  Dog Registration is from 12 pm to 1:45 pm at The Monastery, 1055 St. Paul Place, Towne Properties. 

The Grand Marshall is baseball Hall of Famer & Reds announcer Marty Brennaman.

Learn more about one of earth's most misunderstood creatures with demonstrations, activities and conversations with the experts. We’ll prove to you that bats aren’t so scary after all. Actually, bats are a very important part of our ecosystem; pollinating fruit and providing insect control. The entire day is full of great programming the whole family will enjoy.
