Cincinnati State women advance to regional championship | Schools

TOLEDO, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati State women's basketball team won 84-58 in its regional semi-final matchup against Edison Community College on Friday night at Owens community College in Toledo.
The Surge were led by sophomores Dominique Fischer, Taylor Frazier, Kara McLemore, and Brittiney Latimer. Fischer scored a team high 15 points, all coming in the second half. Frazier followed with 14 points and recorded 8 rebounds while holding Edison's leading scorer, forward Brianna Innocent, to just 8 points on the evening. McLemore finished with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Latimer contributed 9 points and 9 rebounds while coming off the bench.
The Surge will now advance to the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XII championship. The game is scheduled for 3:00 pm. The Surge, who are defending tournament champions, will look to earn a second consecutive trip to the NJCAA national tournament with a win.
