CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Members of the Cincinnati State women's basketball team recently visited their adopted class at Taft Elementary in Mount Auburn to deliver Christmas presents to fifth and sixth grade students.
For several months, members of the team have been raising money for the Christmas project at Taft. Students, faculty and staff at Cincinnati State also contributed to help buy presents for the students.
"Our players and coaches were inspired by the smiles on the kids' faces," said Head Coach Ron Harris (pictured in the back row, far right.) "I think our players have a little bit more motivation to win for their new fans.”
The Lady Surge are undefeated at 13-0 and currently ranked No. 3 in the country in the National Junior College Athletic Association Div. II poll.
Also pictured from Cincinnati State in the back row are, left to right, Assistant Coach Randall Harris and sophomore players Dominique Fischer, DeDe Henry, Taylor Frazier, Asia Dillingham and Kara McLemore.
