CLIFTON, OH (FOX19)- An exchange student at the University of Cincinnati is listed in serious condition after being hit by pick up truck Tuesday morning.
It happened just before 9 a.m. at the intersection of Clifton Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive.
Cincinnati police say that five exchange students were standing at a traffic island when Stuart Nizny, 44, driving a 1998 Dodge Dakota, lost control of his vehicle and struck two people.
Nizny also hit a metal pole that landed on a gold SUV.
Lei Feng, 21, was transported to UC hospital with minor injuries. He is listed in stable condition.
John Lentes, 27, was also taken to UC hospital with a severe head injury. He is currently listed in critical condition.
Nizny was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.
Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors.
The incident remains under investigation. Police say they are facing a language barrier that is complicating the investigation.
