Bockfest 5K raises $5,000 for OTR Brewery District | News
OVER-THE-RHINE, OH (FOX19) - The Flying Pig Marathon, the organizers of the first-ever Bockfest 5K, is donating $5,000 raised at this year’s race to the Over-the-Rhine Brewery District Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation for its effort to celebrate and restore Cincinnati’s brewing past.
The Bockfest 5K, held Saturday, March 2, is the first race of three in the new Christian Moerlein Beer Series.
“We are happy to help the Brewery District in its efforts to restore and celebrate this city’s brewing past,” said Iris Simpson-Bush, Flying Pig executive director. “Just as the Flying Pig Marathon celebrates the city’s Porkopolis past, the Christian Moerlein Beer Series marks the history of Cincinnati’s beer barons.”
The Christian Moerlein Beer Series served up by the Flying Pig Marathon, is a three-event series including the Bockfest 5K, Little Kings Mile over Flying Pig weekend and the Hudepohl 14K and 7K over Oktoberfest weekend.
