Pedestrian hit by motorcycle in Clifton

CLIFTON, OH (FOX19)- A pedestrian was struck by a motorcycle Thursday afternoon in Clifton.

Police say Jacob Kreuzmann, 24, and Eliza Barnett, 22, were crossing Clifton Avenue near the intersection of Clifton and Terrace Avenue around 2:45 p.m.

Police say the pair was not in a marked crosswalk when they entered the street, and Kreuzmann was hit by a Honda motorcycle traveling northbound on Clifton Avenue. 

He was knocked off his feet and trapped under a nearby parked vehicle, according to police. Cincinnati Fire personnel and bystanders worked to free him from under the car.

Kreuzmann was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in serious condition. Barnett was not injured in the incident.

The male driver of the motorcycle was partially thrown from the bike, but authorities say he was wearing a helmet. He also was taken to UCMC in critical condition.

His identity has not yet been released.

OTR revitalization bringing lower crime rate, numbers say

OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19)- In the last few years,
Over-The-Rhine has received a bad rap for being a violent neighborhood. 
At one time, it was ranked as the most dangerous neighborhood in America. 

Following Thursday's triple shooting, you might think things aren't that different.

"We don't have this kind of
crap in North Carolina.  We have it, but it don't be in the city like
this.  It was a little scary," said Melvin Eskew, a witness to the
shooting.

However, officials with the Cincinnati
Initiative to Reduce Violence say the numbers speak for themselves.

"In 2012, there actually
were 17 persons shot in Over-The-Rhine, compared to 12.  That's as of May
21st," said S. Gregory Baker, CIRV's executive director.

Those numbers do not include
Thursday's shootings.

3 people shot in Over-the-Rhine

OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19)- Three people were shot Thursday afternoon in Over-the-Rhine.

It happened just before 1 p.m. near the intersection of Elm and Liberty Street.

Two women and one man suffered non-life threatening injures.

No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released by authorities.

The intersection was shut down for several hours following the shooting.

P&G CEO Robert McDonald to step down

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)- Procter & Gamble says retiring CEO Robert 'Bob' McDonald will be replaced by former CEO A.G. Lafley, effective immediately.

According to company officials, Lafley has also been elected to the Board of Directors and will serve as Chairman.

Lafley first joined P&G in 1977, and served as President and CEO from 2000-2009.

He succeeds McDonald, who plans to officially retire from the company on June 30, 2013 after 33 years of service.

"A.G.'s track record and his depth of experience at P&G make him uniquely qualified to lead the Company forward at this important time. The Board expects A.G. to further improve results, implement the current productivity plan, and facilitate an ongoing succession process. The Board is confident that he will continue improving P&G's performance," said Jim McNerney, presiding director of P&G's Board.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)-

Boater sentenced for fatal accident

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)- A boater who caused a fatal crash on the Ohio River was sentenced on Thursday.

Glenn Riegelsberger will spend the next four years behind bars for the death of Jeffery Foster.

Riegelsberger was sentenced on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault.

Riegelsberger is charged with causing the death of Foster on June 9, 2012 when both men were boating, in separate boats, on the Ohio River near Riverside Park in Sedamsville. 

Witnesses reported that Riegelsberger was operating his boat at an excessive speed in the harbor area. The boat that Riegelsberger was piloting ran over the top of the victim's boat, causing serious injury to Foster and his passenger, Jennifer Holwadel. 

The bow of Riegelsberger's boat struck Foster in the head. Foster was transported to University Hospital where he died two days later. Holwadel sustained a broken back in the incident.

Construction nearly complete at U Square

CLIFTON, OH (FOX19)- Construction is nearly completion at U Square @ the Loop.

The 4.2 acre strip of land along McMillan Avenue has seen an impressive transformation since its groundbreaking in January 2012.

U Square @ the Loop is composed of 80,000 square feet of restaurant/retail space, 40,000 square feet of office space, 161 apartment residences, a proposed 100-110 room hotel, a community green and two structured parking garages providing more than 700 spaces.

The model apartment at the development was recently completed.
