Extra chance for Cinti residents to dispose of yard waste

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - After the City of Cincinnati cut regular yard-waste pickups in order to meet the budget, now they are offering a special yard waste collection week for city residents that will run from May 9 - 13, on regular waste pickup days.

This one-time collection is designed to assist citizens by providing a convenient method to dispose of accumulated yard waste.  During this week, citizens are asked to properly prepare and set out yard waste they may have on their regular garbage collection day.

This special yard waste collection week does not include special items such as tires, appliances, and sofa beds. To schedule a special pickup of any of these items, please call 591-6000.

Water Works to offer paperless automatic payments

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The Greater Cincinnati Water Works is adding a nother billing option for poeple who get city water.

The Water Works is offering a service through a company called MyCheckFree that provides for billing through email and allows a cusotmer to program the system to make a payment at the desired time.

The system also lets people look at their accounts online and emails reminder notices.  Since this system is used by some other companies, customers can view more than one account through the same system.

The option requires the cusotmer to have web access.  After things are set up and seem to be working, paper bills are stopped.

The system is free for the customer, because the Water Works pays for the costs.
