First Lady's Let's Move initiative coming to Cincinnati | Health
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld, his City Hall team, and community partners have organized the inaugural "Let’s Move, Cincinnati!" for this coming Saturday, August 25, from 8:30 a.m.-noon at Smale Riverfront Park on E. Mehring Way.
"Let’s Move!" is a national initiative launched by First Lady Michelle Obama to fight the growing problem of childhood obesity facing our nation. Sittenfeld is partnering with city departments, businesses, and non-profits to spearhead “Let’s Move!” in Cincinnati.
“A healthy city is a productive city, and teaching kids and families early on the value of healthy, active lifestyles is crucial for Cincinnati’s future.” Sittenfeld said.
The event is free to attend and will include a youth soccer clinic, family fitness boot camp, healthy cooking demonstrations, yoga on the lawn, salsa dancing lessons, and many other activities that promote fun ways to be healthy.
Attendees are asked to register for the event at http://letsmovecincy.eventbrite.com/ and all participants will receive a free “Let’s Move, Cincinnati!” t-shirt.
