Additional hours added to Santa Claus' schedule at Macy's Fountain Place

DOWNTOWN CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Santa Claus has added three dates to his calendar on select Thursday evenings this holiday season at Macy’s Fountain Place. On November 29, December 6, 13 from 3-7 p.m., Santa Claus will welcome children and their families for photos and wish lists. Families are encouraged to bring their cameras for free photos with Santa Claus.

Previously scheduled dates for Santa Claus at Macy’s Fountain Place, include: Fridays and Saturdays, November 23—December 22; noon—8 p.m.; Sundays, November 24—December 23; noon—6 p.m.; and December 24; noon—6 p.m.

Krohn Conservatory opens holiday show

Krohn Conservatory opens holiday show
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -The Krohn Conservatory's annual holiday show opens Wednesday.

This year's show, "The Return of Trains, Trestles and Traditions" is a larger display than previous years.

The display features miniature replicas of some of Cincinnati's most historic and iconic buildings. There are also more than 1,800 poinsettias on display including the 300 poinsettia tree.

The holiday show is open seven days a week until January 6th.

Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children.

Little Golden Books illustrations on display at Main Library

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Remember the Poky Little Puppy? Or maybe you were more of a Tootle the Train fan. Whichever Little Golden Book character was your favorite, you now have the chance to revisit your old friends.

The Main Library is hosting the “Golden Legacy” exhibit, the most extensive public showing ever of original illustration art from American publishing’s best-loved and most consequential picture-book series, Little Golden Books.

The exhibit runs through Feb. 21, 2013, in the Main Library’s Atrium, 800 Vine Street. Hours are: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Launched in 1942 — the first full year of America’s involvement in World War II — Little Golden Books made high-quality illustrated books available at affordable prices for the first time to millions of young children and their parents.

Beech Acres has November parenting workshop: Understanding Your Child's Typical Development

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Beech Acres Parenting Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting parents and caregivers in raising children who thrive, is hosting its As My Child Grows: Understanding Your Child’s Typical Development and Behavior parenting workshop Tuesday, November 13 (in its Anderson campus) and Thursday, November 29 (on its West campus).

It is common for parents to ask the question, “Is this normal?” They may compare their child’s growth and development to others, or have read all the articles but still are not sure what to do. Attendees will learn to identify age-appropriate or ‘normal’ developmental tasks and ways to encourage and support the various stages of their child’s growth from birth to pre-adolescence.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is participating in National Gaming Day Saturday, Nov. 10, with plenty of events for the whole family at select branches.

Young gamers can interact with a diverse group of peers, share their expertise with others, and develop new strategies for gaming and learning. Activities include video games, board games, card games, trivia, puzzles and much more.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The weather forecast is not looking very trick or treat friendly. Here is a list of some indoor options around the Tri State.

Ikea in West Chester: Candy stations will be set up around Ikea on Tuesday, October 30 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Florence Mall: Trick or treat on Tuesday, October 30; 6pm-8pm.

Eastgate Mall: Trick ot treat on Wednesday, October 31; 5pm - 7pm

Northgate Mall: Trick or Treat on Wednesday, October 31; 3pm - 6pm. There will also be a costume contest with prizes.

EnterTRAINment Junction in West Chester: Trick or treat through October 31; 10am - 6pm
