Celebrations continue in Washington Park this weekend | Events

OVER-THE-RHINE, OH (FOX19) - A weekend full of celebrations are planned at Washington park in Over-the Rhine.

On Friday, August 3, the Cincinnati Pops, May Festival, Cincinnati Opera and the Cincinnati Ballet will put on a joint performance at 7:30 p.m. John Morris Russell will lead the full Pops orchestra in concert with the May Festival chorus, vocalists from the Cincinnati Opera, and dancers from the Cincinnati Ballet.

A temporary stage for the event will be constructed on Music Hall Plaza, the area on the northwest corner of the park directly in front of Music Hall.

Then the celebrations continue on Saturday, August 4, with the 27th Over-the-Rhine Community Festival. The festival had been an annual event in Washington Park for 26 years before the park closed for renovation at the end of 2010.

The food, games, talent contest and entertainment go from noon to 6pm.
