It’s a snap to enter the Teen Photo Contest at the Public Library

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Public Library’s 11th annual Teen Photography Contest is running Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 and offers teens an opportunity to show their creative side. This year’s theme is “Harmony Is …” and teens are encouraged to snap pictures of harmony wherever they may find it – in their music, in their environment, or in their friends and family.

The Library is partnering with the Art Academy of Cincinnati to provide free programs for teens as part of the contest. The Art Academy’s professional photography instructors will inspire ideas while guiding teens to think outside of the box when conceptualizing ideas for the contest. Basic digital editing instruction will be covered as well as time for critiques of provided examples to help teens to shoot a winning photo. The programs are at:

OVER-THE-RHINE, OH (FOX19) - Washington Park in Over-the-Rhine is the center of events for the entire family all weekend.

Friday Flow returns on August 10 to highlight local talent. Renee Dion will be headlining the free concert, along with performances from some local favorites, including: Estee, The Young Jazz Messengers and Selecta’s Choice.

Renee Dion, known throughout the region for her sultry style, has collaborated with a number of well-known Nu/Neo Soul entertainers including Eric Roberson, Jesse Boykins III, and N’Dambi. Though it has taken Dion nearly a decade to cultivate her sound, she is now ready to share her unique musical blend of Jazz, Hip Hop and Soul with the rest of the world. Her most recent album releases include the hypnotic “The City That Never Sleeps” and the dynamic “Rhapsody Inn”. Each LP showcases Dion’s growth as an artist and her willingness to take chances within an increasingly stagnant Hip Hop scene.
