Halloween looming on Mt. Adams

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Halloween will make for a busy weekend for both adults and kids in Mt. Adams.  The 31st is on a Sunday this year, meaning an extended party for some people.

Several clubs are planning large celebrations.  The Mt. Adams Pavilion and Cincinnati Sports Leagues are hosting their 9th Annual Halloween Masquerade Ball on Saturday October 30th.  The $13 dollar admission price includes 5 Bud Lights or three Captain Morgan mixed drinks.  There is also a costume contest with prizes ranging from 25 to 100 dollars, and a contest that will award 25 dollar gift certificates to each member of the group with the best group costume.

Cincinnati Sports Leagues is encouraging people to register at their website in order to guarantee admission if things get crowded.

Longworth's is having two big parties on back-to-back nights.  Their Masquerade Ball is on Friday night, featuring Bud Light, and the Heaven and Hell Party is on Saturday and features Jagermeister specials and Jager girls handing out "shirts, shots and gear".  They are encouraging people to call 513-651-2253 or reach them by other means to get advance tickets, which means no waiting in line to get inside.  Both start at 9pm.  The Friday event ends at 2:00am, and the Saturday night party runs until 2:30 p.m.  Tickets for both events are 5 dollars in advance, 7 dollars at the door.

Down the hill a little, the Rookwood holds their All Hallows Eve Bash from 8 p.m. Saturday through 2:30 a.m. Sunday.  They are offering prizes for the best Original, Humorous, and Ghoulish costumes.  Facebook users can find more informaiton on all the bar events by putting their names in the Facebook search box.

Mount Adams itself has big plans for the holiday.  On Sunday, they are holding "Halloween on the Hill".  The party begins at 4:30 p.m. at Tap & Go, the relatively new bar at 950 Pavilion.  At 5:30 p.m. a Halloween Parade begins on Guido Street off Pavilion.  The parade ends at the Monk Fountain at Pavilion and St. Gregory streets, where there will be a costume judging.

Trick or treat is from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  The neighborhood is setting up trick-or-treat stations at most corners in the middle of Mt,. Adams.  This is not being done as a way to restricty the kids so much as a way to free the adults from having to stick around home during the festivities.  After trick-or-treating, the Halloween party continues at Tap & Go.
