Local artist designs bike rack for Cincinnati Art Musuem | Arts & Culture
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Art Museum has installed a new bike rack to accommodate bike- riding visitors. The rack was generously donated by H.C. Buck Niehoff, of Counsel with Peck, Shaffer, and Williams LLP. and can house six bikes.
The bike rack was designed by local artist Mark Kotlarczyk. The design is based on an art sculpture by Marcel Duchamp. According to Cincinnati Art Museum Director Aaron Betsky, “We are grateful to Buck Niehoff for making room for bicycles at the Art Museum, and to Matt Kotlarczyk for combining details of the Art Museum’s front with bicycle wheels to make a wholly appropriate bicycle rack. This is a bicycle rack we feel proud to have, and I hope it will encourage more people join us as we wheel our way through the Queen City.”
Director Aaron Betsky has a Trek electric assist bicycle, which he rides nearly daily from Clifton, past the Medical Center, through Corryville, to the Art Museum.
