Library Drawing Contest: For Teens Only!

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - From January 1-31, teens ages 12-18 are invited to participate in the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County’s first Teen Drawing Contest. This year’s “Fan Art” theme calls for teens to recreate a scene from their favorite books. Winners will receive art supplies!

Submit original drawings to any Library location no later than January 31. (Sorry, no digital submissions or computer-generated images will be considered.)

Marvin Lewis will remain Bengals coach

Marvin Lewis will remain Bengals coach

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Marvin Lewis has agreed to stay with the Bengals.

Details of his new contract have yet to be announced, but a press conference is scheduled for 4:30pm. We will be streaming it LIVE on FOX19.com.

Earlier Tuesday, ESPN reported that Lewis' contract may be up the air due to not being able to agree with team ownership on the direction of the franchise.

Man arrested for sex acts at library

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -  A man is facing charges for performing sex acts at the main library branch in downtown Cincinnati.

Police arrested 50 year-old Terry McGinnis on Monday on charged of sexual imposition and public indecency.

Officers say he tried to run, but they chased him down Vine Street and took him into custody.

Cincinnati native is new Enquirer boss

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Carol Washburn, the editor of the Des Moines Register, has been named the new editor of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Washburn is the first female editor of the Enquirer. She is a Cincinnati west-side native who graduated from McAuley High School and Indiana University before criss-crossing the country in a career with Gannett, the owner of the Enquirer.

She replaces Tom Callinan, who retired in December after many years as Enquirer editor to become the McMicken Professor of Journalism at U.C.

Washburn started her newspaper career in 1984 as a business reporter for the Lansing State Journal in Michigan.

John Amos is Coming To Town!

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - There is going to be a spectacular celestial event happening this February: A huge star and a brilliant comet!  John Amos (Roots, Good Times, Die Hard II) will be performing his highly acclaimed one-man show, Halley’s Comet, Saturday, February 19th, at the brand new, also spectacular, School for Creative and Performing Arts Corbett Theater in downtown Cincinnati. 

The Cincinnati Black Theatre Co is proud to be presenting John Amos and Halley’s Comet to debut CBTC’s annual Celebrity Series. The Series will bring world-renowned artists to Greater Cincinnati to give public performances as well as Master Classes for students at parti-cipating schools, as Amos will be doing for the SCPA students on Friday, February 18th.

Amos was inspired to write Halley’s Comet when he went for a walk in 1986 near his New Jersey home.

CINCINNATI (FOX 19) - The season wrapped up with another last minute loss for the Bengals, but is the team also about to lose its head coach?

"All I know is that after today I'm officially unemployed," Marvin Lewis says with his enduring laugh after the Bengals 13-7 loss at Baltimore on Sunday.

Lewis heads into 2011 without a contract. Monday morning the reigning 2010 NFL Coach of the Year met with Bengals owner Mike Brown about his coaching future with the franchise.

The timeline of when a decision will be made is unknown, but team officials said nothing will happen Monday.  Lewis said in a press conference last week it should all be resolved by Tuesday.

Lewis met with players and the coaching staff briefly on Monday.

71st Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival held over New Years weekend

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Cincinnati held its 71st annual Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival Saturday and Sunday.

The event is a religious pageant of the Christmas story. The pageant has a cast of more than 200 people with an orchestra and chorus.

Three shows were held. One show was held on Saturday and two were held on Sunday.

Tickets for the show were handed out before the show. The event is always free as a gift to the city of Cincinnati.
