Donatos joins the five-dollar sandwich war

COLUMBUS, OH (FOX19) - Apparently determined not to take a back seat to Subway, Donatos Pizza says "there’s no “sub”-stitute for great food at a great price". That’s why Donatos is celebrating summer with the introduction of the Hearty Italian Grinder. For a limited time, customers can enjoy the new oven baked sandwich for just $5.00.

"Nothing elevates a summer gathering like great food, so this seemed like the perfect time to roll out the Hearty Italian Grinder,” said Brian Thompson, director of operations at Donatos. “Whether you’re having a picnic, party, or just bringing the family together, this sub is a tasty addition to any get-together. It’s also a great on-the-go option for people with busy with summer schedules.”

The Hearty Italian Grinder features Donatos’ family recipe meatballs, oven-baked in Donatos signature marinara sauce.

FOX19 Exclusive: Kasich answers tough questions

FOX19 Exclusive: Kasich answers tough questions

FOX19 put in a request about a month ago to talk with Governor Kasich one on one, and we asked him some questions on your behalf.

There has been no other state lawmaker who has spawned more reaction since taking office. For example: his support of Senate Bill 5, the legislation that would limit collective bargaining for 350,000 teachers, police officers, firefighters and other state workers.

His controversial plan to increase the number of publicly funded school vouchers which would give more public school students the change to go to private school instead.

Also, we wanted to know more about the re-negotiated tax deal with the group who will develop Cincinnati's new casino; despite voters already approving a plan before Kasich took office.
