Truck flips after hitting bus in downtown Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)- A pick up truck flipped after grazing a Metro bus Monday afternoon in downtown Cincinnati.

It happened on Third Street near Broadway just before 4 p.m.

No serious injuries were reported.

Local schools to participate in 2013 Kids Safety Fair

The 2013 Kids’ Safety Fair is happening Tuesday, May 21st at Yeatman’s cove from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Cincinnati Fire Department and State Farm Insurance along with several other Fire and Police departments.

Children will be educated on fire safety, the hazard of carbon monoxide, water safety and bike safety. State Farm is handing out finger print child ID books as well. Students will explore the Safety Awareness & Fire Education (S.A.F.E.) House, watch puppet shows, see clowns, and tour various safety vehicles throughout the day.

“We are delighted to partner with State Farm Insurance – whose sponsorship has enabled the Cincinnati Fire Department to bring this event to Cincinnati. This type of direct safety education to children is critical to our mission,” stated Fire Chief Richard Braun.

Youth auditions to sing at Western & Southern Open

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)  - One of the world's largest professional tennis tournaments will once again hold its annual Casting Call presented by Skyline Chili to audition youngsters 7 to 17 years old to sing the National Anthem at the event this summer.

Auditioning youth will perform in two rounds of auditions to sing at the Western & Southern Open Tournament, to be held August 10-18 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.

First, audition videos may be uploaded to the official Casting Call Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/singcincinnati or they also can find all the necessary audition info at http://www.cincytennis.com/anthem/. Videos can be of any song, must be at least 30 seconds long, sung a cappella and cannot contain profane or offensive lyrics. Audition videos must be uploaded by June 14.

Man indicted for stalking, bringing gun to Flying Pig

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)- A Hamilton County man is indicted on charges of stalking the Flying Pig Marathon's Executive Director, and then bringing a concealed handgun to the race.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters says that David Moore, 49, was indicted on Monday on charges of Carrying Concealed Weapon/Failure to Inform Law Enforcement Officer, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Weapon Under Disability and Menacing by Stalking.

Prosecutors say Moore, a registered marathon participant, called Executive Director Iris Simpson-Bush multiple times during the two-day Flying Pig event.

In the calls, he reportedly complained about his bib number for the marathon, asked Simpson-Bush about her relationship status, made comments about 'fighting terrorism' and even asked to speak on stage at the Flying Pig events.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - New York Times best selling author Tracy Chevalier will speak at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center on Monday, May 20.

Chevalier will be speaking about her book The Last Runaway beginning at 6:30pm.

The Last Runaway is a captivating novel that brings to life, via the story of a young Quaker woman, the principles, passions, and realities that fueled this extraordinary freedom movement. Chevalier acually visited the Freedom Center while doing research for her book.

Chevalier is the author of six previous novels, including Girl With a Pearl Earring, which has been translated into thirty-nine languages and made into an Oscar-nominated film.

CPD: Robbery suspect held victim at gunpoint

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)- A Cincinnati man is jailed after police say he held a robbery victim at gunpoint.

It happened on Walnut Street in Downtown Cincinnati just before 1:00 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the arrest report, Clayton Bradley, 20, held someone at gunpoint while threatening to kill them.

Police say the victim struggled with Bradley until they arrived.

The arrest report shows Bradley had a stun baton and zip ties.

Bradley was taken to jail where he was preliminarily charged with aggravated robbery.
